PPG Toolkit Stage 1

There's a very welcome and timely addition to local resources for new Patient Participation Groups (PPGs). The PPG Toolkit is designed to be used by PPGs in the early stages of their development and was published by Brighton Community Works and commissioned by NHS Brighton and Hove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). This resource will be developed further as PPGs across Brighton and Hove evolve during 2016/17. It's packed with useful information for those groups who are just starting out and contains essential advice and support. You can download the Toolkit in the table below.

National Resources

Patient Participation Group Awareness Week

National PPG Awareness Week is held in June each year. It aims to promote the role and benefits of PPGs to patients, the public and health professionals, to create more understanding of the value of true patient participation and also to promote the support available from The National Association for Patient Participation (NAPP). You can find out more on the NAPP website.

PPG Guide

Although the aim of this guide was originally to help and support GPs, Practice Managers and patients within Northern Ireland, it's also a great guide for budding PPGs in the UK. It contains essential information on what a PPG is, the benefits of having one, and what is involved in the start-up process.

Care Quality Commission (CQC)

The CQC monitors quality in general practices, and seeks the views of PPGs to inform its work.  You can find a presentation on this in the table below
