#IAMWHOLE is a new anti-stigma youth mental health campaign developed by NHS Brighton and Hove CCG in partnership with Brighton & Hove City Council and YMCA Right Here, a local mental health project.
The campaign is fronted by pop star Jordan Stephens, one half of UK music duo Rizzle Kicks, and is being supported by NHS England, the Department of Health and YMCA services across the country.
The campaign features other high-profile names, including musician Ed Sheeran, James Corden, Dermot O’Leary and Radio 1 presenter Adele Roberts. Its launch on World Mental Health Day 2016 has kick-started a social media movement that will see people across the country posting ‘circle on hand’ selfies in support of the campaign’s anti-stigma message, with many supporters wearing branded sweatshirts and T-shirts personally designed by Jordan.

Jordan’s new track ‘Whole’ (from his Wildhood album ‘VERT’), released for the #IAMWHOLE campaign, is about tackling mental health issues. The music video has been filmed especially for the NHS and features young people with lived experience of mental health difficulties from Jordan’s childhood home of Brighton & Hove.

New research commissioned for #IAMWHOLE by the YMCA among 2,000 11 to 24 year olds reveals attitudes towards the stigma associated with mental health and the extent to which it prevents young people from seeking support when they need it:
- More than one in three (38%) young people with mental health difficulties feel the negative impact of stigma.
- More than one in three (37%) young people who experience stigma because of their mental health do so at least once a week.
- More than half (54%) of young people who experience stigma because of their mental health difficulties say this comes from their own friends.

A huge thank you to Jordan and http://spirit-media.com/ for all the time and creativity you have put into developing and delivering this project for the NHS.
