Patient and Public Participation Annual Report
You can find Brighton and Hove Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Patient and Public Participation Annual Report in the table below. This Report sets out the work that has been done based on our Patient and Public Participation Strategy, and our plans for the next year.
Patient Participation Groups
All the GP practices in Brighton and Hove have set up Patient Participation Group (PPG) or are working to set one up. PPGs are run locally by volunteer patients and practice managers and help strengthen the relationship between practices and their patients. PPGs contribute ideas, feedback and suggestions directly to their practices, and members can also be involved in wider work throughout the city.
Find out more by visiting the Patient Participation Groups page.
Get involved in the CCG's work
The CCG wants to make sure we put patients at the heart of everything we do. We want to encourage local patients and their carers to be involved in how services are shaped and improved, and to work alongside us to make changes happen.
Hearing from diverse groups and communities
The CCG engages with a number of voluntary sector organisations to help us hear the views and experiences of seldom heard communities.
The groups we work with and the communities they help us to hear fromare listed below:
- Amaze - Parents, carers and children on the Learning Disability spectrum
- Age UK - Older people aged seventy and over
- Friends, Families and Travellers - Gypsies and Travellers
- Carers Centre - Carers
- Possibility People - Disabled people
- Speak Out - People with Learning Disabilities
- Trust for Developing Communities - Black and Minority Ethnic communities
- LGBT Health and Inclusion Project - Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities
- Right Here - Young men aged 16-25
- Mind - People living with mental health issues
The CCG recently held the Hearing from Diverse Groups and Communities Event to showcase the work. You can find the resources which were shared on the Hearing from Diverse Groups and Communities Event page.
You can find copies of the CCG's Plans on the Plans page of this website

Patient and Public Participation Strategy 2014-2016
The Patient and Public Participation Strategy is for sharing with the general public.
This strategy is based on the best practice framework contained in NHS England's ‘Transforming Patient Participation in Health and Care’ (2013). Using the framework, we developed a consultation document which outlined our local approach to participation and engagement
